Golf is not an old man’s sport. Walter A. Viti.

“I first encountered Moldova as part of the TRA project in 2014. The TRA stands for Europe, Asia, and Central Asia Road Connection, a network of roads designed to facilitate the movement of freight and merchandise throughout these regions.

Before my visit in 2014, I had never heard of Moldova or Chisinau. However, I was pleasantly surprised by my experience there. In 2004, I left with the impression that Moldova was an intriguing place. The authorities later invited them to return to continue working on a road project.

The CHA is a study focused on improving the road network. In 2016, I was involved in a project to assist with designing roads to international standards, which included enhancing road safety and traffic management in Moldova. This project aimed to boost the movement of merchandise, commercial opportunities, and regional and international connectivity.

My involvement in these projects continued, focusing on providing improvements, design assessments, and strategies for road safety and traffic management.

Currently, I am working in Armenia. Reflecting on the past five years, including the pandemic, has prompted me to consider life’s bigger questions.

At the time, I was living in the UK and contemplating a move to Italy. However, my elderly parents, who were not in good health, were in Australia. I decided to move temporarily to Australia to be with them. After they passed away, I stayed in Melbourne, renovated my house, and considered staying there permanently. Despite this, I pursued international projects, including in Moldova and Turkey,” Walter A. Viti said.
