Moldovans are allegedly being transported to a polling station in Turkey by organized minibus to exercise their right to vote, which is a violation of the law. Representatives of Promo-LEX, the association that has accredited observers in all polling stations open throughout the country and abroad for the November 3, 2024 elections, announced this.
“Voting influence incidents. We already have cases of organized transportation of voters. There is quite a lot of activity in this phenomenon in Istanbul, in the Republic of Turkey, where at around 07:50, within 100 meters from the polling station, a means of transport with Moldovan license plates was observed, from which at least four voters got out. The car drove away immediately after the passengers got out. They headed to the polling station to vote. Public information suggests that this may not be an isolated case, and we will closely monitor any organized voter transportation throughout the day, as it is prohibited by law and constitutes a violation. We call on all who can afford to break the law today to refrain from any violation,” said Nicolae Panfil, Program Director at Promo-LEX.
