On August 13, three Ukraine‑registered aircraft flew over the city of Balti and headed to Marculesti International Airport for maintenance work. Videos of the flight appeared on social media. Representatives of the Civil Aviation Authority confirmed the incident.
“The three aircraft landed in the evening of August 13 in Marculesti for maintenance work. They belong to the search‑and‑rescue category, and the Civil Aviation Authority authorized the flight and coordinated it through diplomatic channels,” said Irina Bodolica, a CAA representative.
According to the authorities, the procedure complied with all safety rules and took place as part of international cooperation in the field of civil aviation.
