Moldova’s Ambassador to the United States, Vlad Kulminski, outlined the key objectives of the diplomatic mission for 2026, focusing on support for the diaspora and stronger strategic partnerships with Washington.

One main priority involves digitalizing and simplifying consular services so Moldovan citizens in the United States can obtain more documents online in a faster and more efficient way. Another major objective focuses on developing three strategic partnerships with the United States.

In the area of peace and security, the mission will continue cooperation with the White House and the National Security Council to maintain stability in the Republic of Moldova and deter attempts to provoke crises. In energy, Moldova will promote major projects and attract US investments, including the Straseni Gutinas project, which is essential for energy independence.

In trade, the mission aims to increase bilateral trade by 25 percent and reduce tariffs on Moldovan exports from 25 percent to a maximum of 15 percent. The embassy will continue discreet dialogue with US authorities to ensure that Moldova does not suffer negative effects from recent decisions.

Kulminski also said the diplomatic mission plans to organize four high level executive visits and attract at least two new American investors to Moldova.

He added that cooperation with the US Congress remains a priority. The mission will organize reciprocal visits and work with senators and congressmen from both parties, prepare at least 10 appearances in leading US media outlets, and continue cooperation with top think tanks. The goal is to strengthen the partnership with the United States and consolidate Moldova’s position as a reliable partner in the region.
