Vladimir Plahotniuc’s Mexican identity is fake: Authorities in Mexico confirm it

Vladimir Plahotniuc used a fake Mexican identity. Joaquín Álvarez, the spokesperson for Mexico’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, confirmed this information, according to rise.md.
“I confirm that the passport is fictitious,” stated Joaquín Álvarez.

Journalists from the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP) entered Plahotniuc’s passport details into an official Mexican government website and found no matching records.

Vladimir Plahotniuc left the Republic of Moldova in June 2019. A coalition formed by the ACUM Bloc and the Party of Socialists of the Republic of Moldova (PSRM) had removed the Democratic Party of Moldova (PDM), which he led, from power.
