If the referendum result on October 20 is negative, Moldova could repeat the situation of Georgia, Vladislav Kulminski, executive director of the Institute for Strategic Initiatives (IPIS), told Rlive TV’s Rezoomat. He added that the referendum result would be the signal sent to the European partners. Vladislav Kulminski also suggests that the Republic of Moldova might become a gray zone if opposition parties win the next parliamentary elections.
“We could find ourselves in the situation of Georgia. This scenario is perfectly possible. And it will be a coalition. The key question is – what kind of coalition will it be? In these presidential elections, we will witness an interesting exercise called “All against Maia Sandu.” All the candidates on the list will fight Maia Sandu. It will continue before the parliamentary elections. So, there is a chance that they will all unite in parliament and create a monstrous coalition. But it won’t last,” Vladislav Kulminski said.
Presidential elections will be held in the Republic of Moldova on October 20, the same day as the republican constitutional referendum.
