Romanian citizens from the Republic of Moldova are expected to visit the 59 polling stations to vote in Romania’s presidential elections.
Seventeen polling stations will open in the northern region, 34 in the central region, including 16 in Chisinau municipality. Another eight polling stations in the southern region.
According to the information presented by the authorities across the Prut, in the south of the country, there will be two polling stations in the city of Cahul, both on the premises of the State University, one in Cantemir, in the premises of the House of Culture, one in Leova, in the district library. At the same time, one polling station will be opened in Cimislia, on the premises of the House of Culture, in Comrat, on the premises of the City Hall, in Giurgiulesti, also on the premises of the City Hall and one in Carabetovca, in the premises of the City Hall.
This weekend, the first round of the presidential elections will take place. The polling stations will open at 07:00 and close at 21:00. Voters who are at the polling station at 21:00, as well as those queuing outside the polling station, enter the polling station, can exercise their right to vote until 23:59 at the latest, according to the Romanian Permanent Electoral Authority. The same schedule will be in place for the second round of the presidential election on December 8.
After the 2024 presidential elections, Romania’s president will be elected for a five-year term.
