The Republic of Moldova has earned a place in the latest guide published by the American magazine Wine Enthusiast, which selected 57 of the world’s best winery restaurants. The only Moldovan restaurant included in the ranking is Bufnița Albă (White Owl) at Castel Mimi, which the editors describe as “modern Moldova at its finest.”

In its feature on gastronomic destinations across the world’s leading wine regions, Wine Enthusiast highlights restaurants that turn a winery visit into a complete experience by combining local cuisine, estate-produced wines, and the unique character of each destination.

For Moldova, the magazine recommends Bufnița Albă, located at Castel Mimi Wine Resort in Bulboaca.

“Bufnița Albă is modern Moldova at its finest. The restaurant belongs to one of the country’s best-known wine estates, founded in 1893. Its menus draw heavily on Moldovan culinary traditions, while the castle’s impressive architecture and meticulously landscaped gardens give the property a theatrical atmosphere,” Wine Enthusiast writes.

The publication notes that the restaurants featured in the guide offer far more than a meal. They allow visitors to experience the identity of a wine region through local cuisine, wines produced on-site, and the distinctive atmosphere of each destination.

Wine Enthusiast ranks among the most influential American publications covering wine, spirits, gastronomy, and travel. Founded in 1979, the magazine regularly publishes internationally recognized guides, reviews, and rankings and serves as a leading reference source for the global wine industry.
