(VIDEO) Almost one million citizens voted in the presidential elections. Head of the CEC: We urge young people to vote

By 1 p.m., the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) representatives announced at a press briefing that over 29% of voters—approximately 852,000 citizens—had cast their ballots. In comparison, around 680,000 citizens had voted by the same time during the first round.

“As in the first round, women remain the most active voters. The lowest turnout comes from young people aged 18 to 25. We urge the 126 young individuals celebrating their 18th birthday today to mark the occasion by participating in the elections. We also encourage the 1,608 voters who turned 18 between the first and second rounds to vote,” said the CEC Chairwoman Angela Caraman.

The most active constituencies in the country are Dondușeni, Rezina, and Soldaneshti, where over 28% of eligible voters have participated.

In Chisinau, the turnout rate stands at 28%, while Balti records 25%, and ATU Gagauzia sees about 27%. Additionally, more than 13,000 voters have cast their ballots at polling stations for citizens on the left bank of the Dniester.
