Moldovan wines participated for the first time in the 21st edition of the International Oenological Challenge “Città De Vino,” held in Italy.
During the competition, Moldovan wines won 17 gold medals, including five grand gold medals. The participation in the specialized competition was organized by the National Office of Vine and Wine with the support of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) through the Rural Competitiveness and Resilience Project in Moldova.
“These remarkable results make us proud of Moldovan Wine and validate the efforts of the wine industry to produce wines of the highest quality and create international recognition for the Republic of Moldova, becoming an ambassador product for our country,” said Vadim MoÈ›arschi, First Secretary of the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Rome, at the event.
During the first six months of this year, Moldovan wineries participated in 14 international competitions and were awarded 268 gold medals and 177 silver medals. Systematic participation in international competitions is part of the marketing and promotion plan implemented under the auspices of the national wine brand “Wine of Moldova. A Living Legend.”
