Young Man from Chișinău Emerges as Finalist in ‘Llíria City Of Music’ International Conductor Competition

Alexandru Marinesku, a Moldovan, is one of the 25 finalists in the international competition for orchestra conductors, “Llíria City Of Music.” The purpose of this competition is to discover and promote the best young conductor from all over the world.

The young conductor was born in Chișinău, where he received his primary musical education.

In 2006, he began his professional flute studies in Moscow, Russia, and a few years later, Alexandru studied at the University of Music in Karlsruhe and the Conservatory in Stuttgart, Germany.

Over time, he has won several important competitions, including:

  • T. Böhm Flute Competition in Munich (Special Prize, 2011);
  • S. Gazzelloni Competition in Pescara, Italy (1st Prize, 2017).

Currently, Alexandru regularly conducts the Orchestra of the St. Petersburg Conservatory in Russia.

In the current competition, he is competing with conductors from France, Poland, Japan, Spain, Argentina, Germany, South Korea, Italy, Israel, and others.
