The International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) will offer the Republic of Moldova a grant worth 90 million dollars. In today’s meeting, the members of the Foreign Policy and European Integration Commission approved the advisory opinion for initiating negotiations and approving the signing of an agreement that entails this.
The grant will be disbursed in a single installment and will be aimed at co-financing the “Moldova Emergency, Resilience, and Competitiveness Measures. Development Policy Operation 2” Program. The financial assistance will be available until September 30, 2023, and the funds will be used to finance the needs of the state budget with the purpose of mitigating the negative effects generated by the war in Ukraine, as well as ensuring the resilience and competitiveness of our country.

It is worth noting that at the end of May, the World Bank approved the financing for the “Moldova Emergency, Resilience, and Competitiveness Measures. Development Policy Operation 2” Program, in the amount of 92.1 million euros (loan), 25 million dollars (non-repayable concessional amount), and 9.3 million dollars (grant).
