Sports enthusiasts will come together during the period of September 23rd to September 30th for events organized as part of the European Week of Sport, under the theme #BeActive. The Republic of Moldova will join this movement alongside 40 other countries, as reported by MOLDPRES citing the Ministry of Education and Research (MEC).
Over the course of one week, various sports activities will take place with the aim of promoting an active and healthy lifestyle, as well as encouraging regular physical exercise, as indicated by MEC.
“In the Republic of Moldova, the European Week of Sport has been organized since 2018. This year, as ambassadors of the #BeActive event, the following individuals will participate: Tudor Casapu – Weightlifting, Olympic champion, Barcelona 1992; Anastasia Nichita – Women’s wrestling, European and world champion; Irina Rîngaci – Women’s wrestling, European and world champion; Veaceslav Gojan – Boxing, bronze medalist at the Beijing 2008 Olympics; Artiom Levadari – Muay Thai, European Games champion, Krakow-Malopolska 2023; Serghei Tarnovski – Canoe-Kayak, bronze medalist at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics,” explains the cited source.
The European Week of Sport is a program of the European Union that started in 2015 with the objective of promoting sports.
