The Organization for the Development of the Small and Medium Enterprises Sector (ODIMM) has signed business greening contracts with non-reimbursable financing with 38 domestic companies, today, May 17th, when the institution celebrates 15 years of activity.
Entrepreneurs will access grants of up to 200 thousand lei from the state, which is up to 70% of the amount of the investment project, for the implementation of business greening actions. The total amount of the non-reimbursable financing, offered to the 38 businesses, constitutes about 5.8 million lei, and the investments assumed by the beneficiaries will be about 11 million lei.
The interim director of ODIMM, Dumitru Pîntea, underlined the opportunities opened by green investments in front of enterprises, which involve the reduction of production costs, but also the reduction of the impact on the environment.
“ODIMM helps businesses adapt to the global demands and trends of the green economy. We appreciate the courage and perseverance of the companies that come up with new models of production and sustainable consumption in order to contribute to the efficient use of resources, the promotion of exports and the creation of jobs “, said Pîntea.
The investment projects of the 38 companies aim at adopting ecological practices in the fields of water resources management, responsible energy use, as well as the recovery of raw materials, waste recycling and reuse. Out of the total number of businesses, 24 are located in rural areas, and 14 – in Chisinau. At the same time, 18 companies operate in the field of services, 13 carry out their activity in the industrial field, and 7 – in the agri-food sector.
Among the entrepreneurs who were accepted today for non-reimbursable financial support is Gheorghe Scutaru from Javgur village, CimiÈ™lia district, who has been the owner of a winery for over 35 years. The vineyard covers an area of ​​87 hectares, and from the harvested grapes are obtained the most special wines including “Chardonnay”, “Sauvignon Blanc”, “Muscat”, “Pinot Gris” and others.
“From the ODIMM grant we will purchase a high-performance treatment plant, which will help us to efficiently manage water resources, by treating wastewater, following the production process for reuse and reconnection,” said the beneficiary.
Subsequently, ODIMM organized a roundtable dialogue between the management of the institution, the Ministry of Economy and the beneficiaries of business support programs, stakeholders and business associations. During the talks, the expectations and challenges of entrepreneurs during the pandemic and regional security crisis were analyzed.
Also today, the ODIMM team held an information session at the Business Incubator in CimiÈ™lia to present to the entrepreneurs from the Southern region the business support mechanisms from the institution’s portfolio.
The Organization for the Development of the Small and Medium Enterprises Sector (ODIMM), a public institution established by the Government of the Republic of Moldova on May 17, 2007, is an initiative to support Moldovan SMEs at all stages of business development by capitalizing on their potential to become competitive, dynamic and sustainable. ODIMM administers 12 state business support programs, most of which provide integrated training, funding, and mentoring. For 2022, the Government has allocated a budget of over 340 million lei to support SMEs.
