At the Cultural Awards Gala, the President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, alongside the Minister of Culture, Sergiu Prodan, awarded individuals who achieved remarkable results in their creative fields last year.
The head of state also signed a decree granting honorary titles to several cultural figures for outstanding success in creative activity, high professional expertise, and promotion of the nation’s spiritual values.
“Dear cultural figures, thank you for your contribution to the development and promotion of our national culture. Culture is a unique source of joy, a form of spiritual maturity, and a celebration of humanity within us,” stated Maia Sandu.
The President mentioned that in 2023, various initiatives and projects in the cultural domain were supported. The “Cultural Voucher” program was launched, providing young people reaching the age of 18 with 1000 lei for books, theater tickets, and concerts. Over the past two years, the government renovated 28 cultural houses.
Maia Sandu concluded, “Cultural events bring us together and make us proud of our country and its people.”
