Ilan Shor left Israel on February 1, at 5:00 am. The information was confirmed for the press group Realitatea by the head of the Interpol Office in Moldova, Viorel Tentiu.
According to the official, the politician was convicted in absentia in Moldova and put on an international wanted list. He used his Israeli passport to leave the country. Other details, such as directions or flight numbers, the Tel Aviv authorities could not provide.
“He last left the Russian Federation in 2014. We received a preliminary reply that he is not a citizen of the Russian Federation,” Tentiu said.
On Wednesday, Ilan Shor met with Leonid Kalashnikov, the head of the Commonwealth of Independent States at the State Duma. The two discussed Moldova’s accession to the Eurasian Union and its friendship with the Russian Federation.
The politician who had been hiding from justice in Israel so far has also published a photo in which he appears alongside the Russian official. The photo seems to have been taken in a Russian Parliament office, but there is currently no official confirmation of the meeting location.
