Sandu invited Stoianoglo to a debate at the Republican Palace for a one-on-one discussion. Stoianoglo accepted the proposal

The debate in the second round of the presidential elections may happen without a moderator. Maia Sandu invited Alexandr Stoianoglo to a one-on-one discussion at the Republican Palace.

This statement came after several disputes regarding the integrity of Gheorghe Gonta, who was supposed to host the event. Initially, Maia Sandu’s team accepted the proposal from Stoianoglo’s staff but later requested the Press Council to find another moderator due to public dissatisfaction.

“People want to see my plan and your plan for Moldova. Let’s remove the moderator from the discussion. You are the challenger; you should speak directly to the people. So, on Sunday at 10 AM, I expect you at the Republican Palace, where we will have a one-on-one discussion without a moderator. I will ask you ten questions, and you will ask me ten questions. The people have the wisdom to decide what kind of president they want. Don’t be afraid,” Sandu stated.

“Of course, I accept your proposal and am ready for a discussion under the indicated conditions. These are undoubtedly very convenient.

As a compliment for the future, I would like to clarify that I did not initiate the discussion regarding the inacceptability of some moderators. However, I am glad you found a solution to adjust your position. Thank you for that,” Stoianoglo stated.
