Moldova and Norway are enhancing their defense partnership. On Thursday, October 31, Defense Minister Anatolie Nosatii and Norwegian Defense Minister Bjørn Arild Gram, who is visiting Chisinau, signed a letter of intent. This document outlines cooperation in military training and education, as well as the development of related policy documents.
The discussions covered topics related to the current regional security situation, the main challenges in achieving development goals and implementing democratic reforms, as well as the European path of the Republic of Moldova.
“Officials also discussed the recent information war, misinformation targeting the defense and security sector, as well as the actions taken to enhance national resilience in countering hybrid threats and maintaining peace, stability, and the safety of citizens,” stated a press release issued by the ministry.

The dialogue also included topics related to the current strategic objectives of the defense institution, such as intensifying the National Army’s contribution to international efforts for peace and stability and strengthening collaborative relationships with external partners.
The discussions also focused on the Security and Defense Partnership between the Republic of Moldova and the European Union, signed in May of this year, and also the importance of Norway promoting initiatives and projects aimed at transforming our country’s defense institution at the international level.
