Today, the citizens of the Republic of Moldova elect their president for a four-year term on a crucial day for the country’s future. Over 3 million Moldovans are expected to go to the polls to exercise this fundamental right. Two candidates are on the ballot paper, and voters are casting their ballots, hoping for a better future.

Across the border, queues formed at several polling stations, including in the Russian Federation, where dozens of Moldovans are waiting to vote.
