Dorin Recean has announced the resignation of Energy Minister Victor Parlicov. Additionally, he called for replacing Energocom’s head, Victor Binzari, and Sergiu Tofilat, a member of the Moldovagaz Supervisory Board.
The Prime Minister is set to address Parliament to request the establishment of a state of emergency in the energy sector due to ongoing challenges. The measure could take effect starting December 16.

“The state of emergency in the energy sector means there is a risk of electricity interruption and other energy supplies. We might need to restrict exports and implement other measures to reduce the impact on the population,” stated the Prime Minister.
Until a new Energy Minister is appointed, Dorin Recean will assume the role. Next week, the Prime Minister will present his request for the state of emergency to Parliament.
