Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Cristina Gherasimov spoke by phone with Poland’s Minister for European Affairs, Adam Szłapka. The discussion followed Poland’s assumption of the Council of the European Union presidency on January 1, 2025, for a six-month term.
The deputy prime minister congratulated Poland on securing its second mandate in the country’s history.
“We discussed the agenda of Poland’s EU Council presidency and Moldova’s European priorities for the first half of this year. We have ambitious goals to advance the negotiation process, and we rely on Poland’s support to open negotiations on a group of chapters,” Gherasimov stated.

She also expressed gratitude to Poland for supporting Moldova’s European integration efforts and for its solidarity in helping the country overcome its energy crisis.
