40 modern graphic stations will be distributed to Moldova’s diplomatic missions and consular offices worldwide for biometric data collection. The investment amounts to 12.3 million lei.
The new graphic stations are integrated with the Public Services Agency (ASP) ‘s information system, significantly improving the quality of public services provided to citizens regardless of their location.
“This modernization resulted from a joint effort between two institutions – the Public Services Agency and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The initiative is part of the digitization and optimization of public services. It will benefit Moldovan citizens in the diaspora by reducing the waiting time for requested documents.

Starting March 31, 2025, Moldovan citizens abroad can apply for the new electronic identity card—a modern and secure document that meets European Union standards. With this identity card, which will include a qualified electronic signature, our citizens abroad can access ASP’s online public services without needing to visit our offices,” said ASP Director Mircea Esanu.
The modern equipment will enable the rapid collection of biometric data (fingerprints, photographs, electronic signatures) required for issuing passports and new electronic identity cards. The stations are equipped with high-resolution cameras, advanced fingerprint scanners, and an electronic signature system, all connected to ASP’s information system. The process of applying for and issuing identity documents will be digitized, reducing wait times and providing safer, more modern services.
