The United Kingdom will invest £1.1 million (about 25 million lei) to strengthen Moldova’s cyber defense. UK Minister for Intergovernmental Relations, Pat McFadden, said the funding will equip Moldova with tools to boost its resilience and regional security as the country faces increasing external threats, IPN reports.
“We will invest £1.1 million in Moldova’s cyber capabilities to help the country counter Russian cyberattacks and ensure free parliamentary elections this fall,” said McFadden during CYBERUK 2025, hosted by the UK’s National Cyber Security Centre.
He emphasized that this action reflects the UK’s commitment to freedom and democracy and aligns with additional support for Ukraine.
