On Sunday, Constantin Cheianu announced his candidacy. The writer stated that President Maia Sandu had proposed to him.

When Realitatea asked what connection the president—who is not a party member—has with the drafting of PAS’s electoral list, the head of state’s spokesperson, Igor Zaharov, responded: “Maia Sandu encourages honest people who care about the future of the Republic of Moldova to run in the next parliamentary elections. We welcome the fact that the Party of Action and Solidarity is open and encourages the involvement of new, professional people—to carry forward the project of a European, just, and prosperous Moldova.”

Voters in the Republic of Moldova will elect a new parliament on September 28, 2025.
