The Republic of Moldova will participate for the first time in the World Games, and five athletes from the WAKO Kickboxing Federation, the Sports Dance Federation, and the Muay Thai Federation will represent the country. The competition will take place from August 9 to 15 in Chengdu, China.
During today’s ceremony on August 7, held at the Ministry of Education and Research (MER), officials handed the State Flag to athlete Stanislav Renita. Coaches Anatolie Ignat and Eugen Musalimov, together with Tudor Gorea, president of the WAKO Kickboxing Federation, attended the event. According to the MER, the national team has already delegated several athletes to the competition, and the rest of the team will soon join them.
Marcel Marin, department head at the MER, stated, “The participation of such a large number of athletes from the Republic of Moldova in the World Games marks a national first and demonstrates the continuous development of sport at the national level, as well as the international recognition of Moldovan athletes’ performances.”
