Victoria Furtuna, leader of the Big Moldova Party, rejected reports that she faces the revocation of her Romanian citizenship. In a public statement, she described the allegations as “lies and manipulations” spread by her political opponents.
“No one has taken anything away from me. This information is a lie created in the power offices for intimidation and discredit,” Furtuna declared.
She reiterated her party’s initiative to ban dual citizenship for public officials, deputies, and the president, stressing that she would give up her Romanian passport only if the people’s will adopted such a law.
