Moldova has recorded the highest annual progress among all EU candidate countries, announced European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos. Speaking at the presentation of the 2025 Enlargement Report in Chisinau, the commissioner emphasized that Moldova’s progress is both significant and consistent, as confirmed by the report, IPN reported.

“Moldova has advanced across all chapters of the EU acquis and has completed the fastest screening process. By the end of the year, you will be ready to begin negotiations on all six thematic clusters,” Marta Kos stated.

According to the commissioner, by 2025, Moldova will have come closer than ever to the EU, particularly through the implementation of the Growth Plan. She also noted that Moldova has worked on strengthening its energy resilience plan to align with the European energy market. “This helps ensure that Russia can no longer blackmail us,” Kos added.

The commissioner further highlighted that the autumn parliamentary elections represented a success in consolidating democracy, preventing vote buying, fighting corruption, and resisting Russia’s hybrid warfare.

“We will support you in developing public and administrative capacity to draft legislation, ensuring quality and readiness for implementation. Transposing EU laws is not enough — the true value of reforms will be proven by how well they are implemented,” concluded Marta Kos.
