The members of the National Beach Soccer Team were awarded by the President of the Parliament, Igor Grosu, after they qualified for Division A at the end of last week – the elite of beach soccer in Europe. They are going to play at the 2023 European Games.
Igor Grosu thanked the team for the success recorded for the first time in the history of Moldova.
“Today we gave Parliament awards to the members of the National Beach Soccer Team. I thank the national team and the technical staff for this remarkable success, for the immense joy it brought to beach soccer fans and to the entire country. You are a source of pride for all. You have shown that a small country can come up with a team with character. You gave us confidence that Moldova can succeed. Congratulations!”, reads Grosu’s message.
Grosu stated that he also participated as a spectator in the match that brought victory to the national team, led by head coach Ruslan Pernai.
We remind you that, for the second consecutive year, our country hosted the European Beach Soccer Championship, where 12 national teams from Europe participated. The competition started on July 27th and lasted until July 31st. As a result of the competition, the national team became champion, a fact that will give it the opportunity to debut at the European Games in 2023.
