The Public Property Agency could in the next few days conclude a contract with a company that will carry out an audit of Moldovagaz’s debt to Gazprom and Factoring Finance for gas delivered to consumers on the right bank of the Dniester. The statement was made this evening by the Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development, Andrei Spînu.
“We have already announced that APP is on the final stretch and it is possible that in the next days we will have good news in this regard. My expectation is that the companies that will be selected will pick up all the documents that were the basis of the alleged debt and analyze head to toe how this debt was created. Is it really a debt? And if not – to bring some explanations. I think this question is of major interest to all of society. I personally cannot assume, sign or accept that I do not know where a debt of 800 million dollars came from,” said Spînu.

At the same time, Spînu claims that even if we currently have a contract for the supply of natural gas for a term of five years between Moldovagaz and Gazprom, we are not really that insured. The risk of unilateral termination of the Contract due to the non-execution of the audit of financial debts still persists, thus existing the risk that natural gas supplies will be limited or stopped.
