Maia Sandu condemned Russia’s latest attack on Ukraine, which caused casualties and widespread destruction across several regions. In a message posted on the social media platform X, the head of state said the bombardments caused loss of life and called for stronger international support for Ukraine.

“Russia struck Ukraine again during the night. Lives were lost, homes were destroyed, and families now live in fear under the threat of missiles and drones. I thank every partner who supports Ukraine. We now need stronger support for Ukraine and increased pressure on Russia,” Maia Sandu wrote.

According to Ukrainian authorities, at least nine people died in the attack on the city of Dnipro, including a child born in 2023 and a rescue worker. Another 37 people sustained injuries, including several children, some of whom remain hospitalized in moderate condition.

In Kyiv, the attacks killed four people and injured around 60 others, while in Kharkiv authorities reported 14 injured victims, including a child.

The strikes hit several cities and regions, including Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, and Kharkiv, and damaged residential buildings, civilian infrastructure, garages, and a fire station. In some areas, rescue teams continue search-and-rescue operations in partially destroyed buildings.

According to the Ukrainian military, forces launched 656 drones and 73 missiles overnight, including Iskander-M ballistic missiles and Kalibr and X-101 cruise missiles. Authorities describe the attack as one of the most intense in recent months.
