Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held talks with U.S. President Donald Trump’s envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner during a stopover at Chisinau International Airport on the evening of June 8.

Zelenskyy described the meeting with the American representatives as “very positive.”

“Today, during a stopover at Chisinau Airport, I spoke with representatives of the President of the United States, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. It was a very positive conversation,” Zelenskyy said.

According to the Ukrainian leader, both sides discussed their readiness to intensify diplomatic efforts in the coming weeks to advance negotiations.

“I am grateful for their readiness to work as actively as possible over the next few weeks to strengthen diplomacy aimed at ending Russia’s war against Ukraine,” he added.

Zelenskyy also said the talks covered prospects related to the upcoming G7 Summit and other events scheduled for June.

“I informed them about the information we have regarding Moscow’s intentions and positions,” he said.

The consultations took place during Zelenskyy’s stopover in Chisinau while traveling to the United Kingdom. He previously used the Rzeszow airport in Poland for similar international transit routes.
