Moldovan President Maia Sandu has commented on the political crisis in Romania, where the government is currently being led by an interim prime minister, saying Moldova should remain focused on its own priorities.

Sandu expressed confidence that Romania would resolve its domestic political situation.

“Our cooperation continues across all areas. We have not experienced any delays. I am confident that Romania will resolve its problems. We need to focus on our own agenda,” Sandu said.

According to reports, the interim government led by Ilie Bolojan could remain in office until the autumn after political parties failed to reach an agreement on appointing a new prime minister.

Romanian President Nicusor Dan is reportedly not expected to nominate another prime minister until he is assured that a parliamentary majority can be formed.
