Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu has stated that he has no information about individuals named in the public space in connection with alleged involvement in phone fraud schemes.
Asked about Sorin Guzgan, a person whom “Our Party” leader Renato Usatii claims is involved in illegal activities and has links to PAS MP Radu Marian, as well as individuals within the Security and Intelligence Service (SIS) of the Republic of Moldova, Grosu said he does not know the individuals in question and cannot comment on the claims.
At the same time, the head of Parliament called on state institutions to provide explanations regarding the allegations circulating in the public space.
Grosu was also asked about the public hearings held on June 12 concerning phone fraud cases, where Sorin Guzgan was reportedly present. He explained that such consultations are open to anyone interested.
“It was an open call to all interested parties, just as we publish calls and you attend consultations. Regarding the allegations involving the SIS, we hope the institution will come forward with a reaction and comment on what the MP said,” Grosu stated on Thursday, July 2.
Earlier, Renato Usatîi publicly claimed that PAS MP Radu Marian had links to Sorin Guzgan, whom he described as being involved in call-center type fraud schemes, including connections with European investigative structures.
The leader of “Our Party” called for the allegations to be verified by state institutions. In response, MP Radu Marian denied any connection to Guzgan.
