Vasile Costiuc claims that Alexandru Țurcanu was the Energocom official who allegedly suggested that the company purchase government securities. According to the leader of the Democracy at Home Party, Țurcanu is a close friend of MP Radu Marian.

“The man comes up with investment initiatives. Our question is: did Radu Marian’s ‘kent’ coordinate these schemes with Radu Marian, the head of the Economy, Budget and Finance Committee and the number one person responsible for our economy? These are rhetorical questions,” the leader of Democracy at Home said.

Before the parliamentary session, Costiuc showed journalists several photographs in which Radu Marian appears alongside Alexandru Țurcanu.

“I will respond to Costiuc only when he clearly condemns Russian drones that kill children and endanger the security of Moldovans, and answers what services he provided in Moscow in 2013 and whether he is still providing them,” PAS MP Radu Marian told Realitatea when asked for comment.

Energocom invested 361 million lei in government securities during the first half of 2026, according to bani.md. The company’s management has not disclosed details about the duration of the investments or the returns generated.

The company’s director, Eugeniu Buzatu, previously stated that investments in government securities fall under the company’s internal treasury management. He did not provide information about interest rates, maturity dates, or any potential investments made in the second half of the year.

The National Anticorruption Centre will investigate the purchase of government securities after the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office forwarded to the institution a request from MP Vasile Costiuc calling for the authorities to intervene.
