Officers of the National Anticorruption Center carried out searches on the morning of June 10 at several locations in the Ialoveni and Telenesti districts. Investigators are conducting criminal investigation actions in a case involving the administrator of a construction company, technical supervisors, site managers, and two local public administration representatives suspected of abuse of office during the implementation of an infrastructure project in Ialoveni district.

The investigation concerns a construction contract worth approximately 40 million lei for the development of a wastewater collection and treatment system in a locality in Ialoveni district.

According to the CNA, investigators established that between 2013 and 2024, the administrator of the contracted company allegedly failed to implement the project in accordance with the technical documentation, construction standards, and contractual deadlines. Authorities suspect that the company intentionally deviated from the contract terms and the approved execution project. As a result, the wastewater collection and treatment system has not entered into operation, despite the local public administration having paid for the contracted works.

To determine the causes of the delays and assess the condition of the project, local authorities requested a technical expert assessment from the State Enterprise “State Service for the Verification and Expertise of Projects and Constructions.” The expert report identified multiple deficiencies and serious violations of construction standards. Experts found that a significant portion of the works did not comply with the approved project and concluded that additional demolition and reconstruction works are necessary to make effective use of the public investment. They estimated the cost of the corrective works at more than 2 million lei.

Investigators are carrying out the searches and other procedural actions to collect evidence, establish all circumstances of the case, and identify all individuals involved.
