On Monday, December 18, a tragic incident unfolded in Portugal, claiming the life of one Moldovan citizen and causing injuries to seven others. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration (MAEIE) has officially verified and reported this unfortunate event. The accident transpired on the national road 387 in the Beja region.
“MAEIE confirms that yesterday morning there was a road accident on national route 387, Beja region of Portugal.
The Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Lisbon has informed the Beja police about the circumstances of the accident.
The local authorities informed our diplomatic mission that seven citizens of the Republic of Moldova were injured and are now out of danger, and one Moldovan citizen died,” the ministry said in the message.
In the same context, the MFAEI states that “the embassy of our country in Lisbon will provide the necessary consular assistance for the repatriation of the body to our country.”
