A total of 151 acts of the European Union were incorporated into national legislation during the previous year

In 2023, 151 European Union acts were transposed into national law, representing a 40% increase compared to the previous year.

The data were presented by the Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Cristina Gherasimov, during the hearings organised today by the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Policy and European Integration. The discussions were attended by representatives of the Centre for Harmonisation of Legislation, including deputies.

As indicated by the aforementioned source, a total of 96 legislative acts of EU relevance were enacted in the preceding year. A total of 151 European Union acts have been transposed into national law. Of these, 64 have been fully transposed. Among the central authorities with the highest number of transposed and realised actions are the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalisation, and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development.

The Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration also presented an account of the progress made in the implementation of the recommendations of the European Commission. It is pertinent to highlight that eight recommendations have already been implemented.

“It can be stated that a comprehensive evaluation of the implementation of the recommendations has been conducted. The vetting and appointment of judges to the Supreme Court of Justice is already underway, as is the selection and appointment of a new attorney general. These two measures are by the final recommendation. The remaining measures have already been implemented,” added Gherasimov.

Furthermore, at the meeting today, the work of the Centre for the Harmonisation of Legislation and the working groups involved in the European integration process was presented.
