Aid of 600 million euros for the defense of the Republic of Moldova

The Republic of Moldova has received commitments to receive assistance amounting to approximately 600 million euros. The promise was made during the donors’ conference, held on Friday in Bucharest.

The Conference of the Support Platform for the Republic of Moldova was attended by the German Minister of Foreign Affairs, Annalena Baerbock, her Romanian counterpart Bogdan Aurescu and the Secretary of State for Development, Francophonie and International Partnerships of France – Chrysoula Zacharopoulou.

“Why do we dedicate so much energy to the Republic of Moldova? Because, for me, foreign policy means making a difference. We may not have the strength to stop the war in Ukraine today or tomorrow because of Russia’s brutality. But we have the means to help a democratic country, to prevent it from being crushed by the effects of this war. It is important to send a message using our MoldovaSupportPlatform. Not only words, but also actions”, Baerbock wrote on Twitter after the event.
