Chisinau and Kiev, to develop a plan to maintain stability in Moldova’s eastern districts

Maintaining a substantial dialogue between Chisinau and Kyiv in order to maintain stability in the eastern districts of the Republic of Moldova was one of the topics of discussion between the Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration, Oleg Serebrian, and the Ambassador of Ukraine to our country, Marko Shevchenko.

Serebrian briefed the Ukrainian ambassador on the state of dialogue between Chisinau and Tiraspol, stressing that at present the only negotiating formats that remain functional are 1 + 1 and the sectoral working groups.

The two officials also exchanged views on the situation in the Black Sea region in the context of the war in Ukraine.

In the end, the Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration expressed the hope that Ambassador Yuri Klimenko, the Special Representative for Transnistrian settlement from Ukraine, will visit the Republic of Moldova in the near future.
