Several aircraft scheduled to land today, May 12, at Chisinau International Airport were seen performing holding patterns in the airspace of Romania and the Republic of Moldova, according to data displayed by the Flightradar24 app.

The affected flights included a LOT Polish Airlines flight operating on the Warsaw-Chisinau route, a Pegasus Airlines flight from Istanbul, and a FlyOne aircraft arriving from Sharm El-Sheikh, according to BANI.MD. Images from Flightradar24 also showed some aircraft performing holding maneuvers before the final approach to Chisinau, while one flight circled near Pascani.

At the same time, authorities redirected the Sharm El-Sheikh flight to Bacau.

Authorities have not officially announced the exact reason for the delays, and no information had been published on the website of Chisinau International Airport.
