Alert in Romania following Russian drone attacks near the border. F-16s scrambled

Romanian authorities instituted alert measures on the morning of April 14 after a group of Russian drones was detected near the border, in Tulcea County.

According to the Ministry of National Defence of Romania, Russian forces resumed attacks on civilian and infrastructure targets in Ukraine, close to the river border with Romania. As a result, authorities issued a RO-Alert message for residents in the northern part of Tulcea County at 03:48.

At the same time, two F-16 Fighting Falcon jets of the Romanian Air Force were scrambled from the 86th Air Base Fetesti, while air defense systems were placed on combat readiness.

Military representatives stated that the drones did not enter Romanian airspace. The air alert was lifted at 04:45, and authorities maintained constant communication with allied structures, providing real-time updates on the situation.
