Almost 60% of Romanians hold a positive opinion about the results of the elections in the Republic of Moldova, where the pro-European party secured over 50% of the votes, according to an INSCOP survey released on Tuesday.

The study shows that 58.4% of Romanians view the election outcome across the Prut positively, 20.7% have a negative opinion, and 20.9% either did not know or refused to answer.

By political affiliation, 71% of PSD voters, 85% of PNL supporters, and 92% of USR voters favor the victory of the pro-European forces. AUR voters remain divided — 39% express a positive view and 39% a negative one.

The data also reveal that men (65%) and young people aged 18–29 (74%) are more supportive of the result compared to women (52%) or older age groups. Support for Moldova’s pro-European orientation increases with education level — 79% of respondents with higher education view the outcome favorably.

In large urban areas, 68% of participants expressed a positive opinion, compared to 52% in rural regions.

“Public perception in Romania reflects a strong and consistent support for the Republic of Moldova’s pro-European direction,” said Remus Stefureac, Director of INSCOP Research, emphasizing that in no demographic group do negative opinions outweigh positive ones.

The survey took place between October 6–10 on a sample of 1,100 respondents through telephone interviews, with a margin of error of ±2.95%.
