The Romanian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bogdan Aurescu, will have political consultations with the Secretary of State of the United States of America, Antony Blinken, on Tuesday, November 29, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The visit that the high-ranking American official is making to Romania, is in the context of participation in the Meeting of Foreign Ministers of NATO member states and of the 25th anniversary since the launch of the Strategic Partnership between Romania and the USA. During the meeting, the two officials will refer to the stake of supporting Ukraine’s neighbors, with an emphasis on the Republic of Moldova.
“The meeting between the two officials will thus also focus on bilateral coordination with a view to the assistance given to Ukraine and the implementation of the decisions regarding the strengthening of the deterrence and defense posture on the Eastern Flank of NATO, adopted during the Summit of the Alliance in Madrid. The discussions will also focus on the evolution of the regional security situation in the Black Sea, the two officials are going to carry out an exchange of views on future developments and their consequences in a broader security plan for Europe and at the global level”, it is mentioned in a press release.

Minister Bogdan Aurescu will present Romania’s multidimensional efforts to help Ukraine, including the humanitarian assistance granted to refugees from the neighboring country and the taken measures by the Government of Romania to facilitate the transit of Ukrainian agricultural products through Romania, in order to avoid a global food crisis.
