In the evening of August 22, the President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, had a meeting with the Federal Chancellor of Austria, Karl Nehammer. This happened on the sidelines of the European Forum in Alpbach. During the discussions they talked through the bilateral relations between our countries, the Moldovan cooperation Austrian and about the European course of the Republic of Moldova, in the context of obtaining the status of a candidate country for the EU.
The head of state thanked the Austrian authorities for supporting the European integration of the Republic of Moldova and for the support that our country has received over the years through the Austrian Development Agency.
The officials agreed to advance cooperation in the fields of economy, environmental protection and energy, for the development of renewable energy. Also, Moldova & Austria will continue to carry out regional infrastructure rehabilitation projects.
