The State Road Administration will monitor bicycles, motorcycles, cars, trucks, buses and articulated vehicles (semi-trailers, trailers). The authorities are to allocate 1.8 million lei.
The project includes 15 video analysis units for monitoring objects (transport units) and evaluating their trajectories in real time. The systems for monitoring the transport units are installed on the national public roads according to the pre-established places on the existing pillars that are connected to the electricity source.
ASD claims that the benefits of project implementation include the development and modernization of infrastructure, accident reduction, safety of traffic participants, smooth road traffic.
Surveillance cameras will be installed until July 31 this year. The nominated system involves the modernization of infrastructure and will be extended to cover the entire national public road network.
