Author’s Wine Festival: The Event of Small Wine Producers from Moldova

On September 2nd, 2023, the “Association of Small Wine Producers from Moldova” is organizing, for the first time, the first event dedicated to a new concept in winemaking – the “Author’s Wine.”

This event brings together over 30 small wine producers from Moldova who will proudly present their creations – native wines made using the winemaker’s technologies and secrets, different from the rigid norms imposed by the commercial aspect of wine production. Throughout the year, Moldovan wines have earned over 70 medals at international competitions – an extra reason to take pride in our identity!

Many consumers will wonder, what is an author’s wine, after all? An author’s wine is not mass-produced but rather crafted in more limited editions, intended for lovers of something different, original, and authentic. An Author’s wine has personality, as the winemaker independently decides aspects related to technology, characteristics, creation processes, and other distinctive elements. Author’s wines carry within them the characteristics of the region they come from, the terroir of the origin area, and the unique features that set them apart.

Therefore, this new concept, this new identity – the “Author’s Wine” – has its own event! In the courtyard of the National History Museum, starting at 10:00 AM, a grand celebration will take place, inviting all lovers of wine, beauty, and authenticity. An important note to the event will be brought by the gold league of Moldovan sommeliers – “The Sommelier Guild of Moldova,” who will be present in large numbers to help consumers discover Moldovan native wines and create the most delicious gastronomic pairings.

In terms of gastronomy, the organizers have made an inspired choice by foregoing the classic kebabs and bringing to the forefront more unique snacks that will match the entire range of wines to be tasted at the event. The day will be accompanied by good music, and in the evening, guests will enjoy a jazz music concert, making the atmosphere even more pleasant.

The event will be child-friendly, with children having free access and many fun activities in a specially arranged area. History enthusiasts will also enjoy an outdoor antique exhibition.
