By train from Odessa to Moldova, bypassing Transnistria

Trains from Odesa to the Republic of Moldova will be able to run bypassing Transnistria. The Basarabeasca – Berizino line has become functional.

The announcement about the inauguration of the route was announced by Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Spînu. Also, the journalists from Odesa inform about the fact that the line that will unite Ukraine, Moldova and the EU can already be used.

“In exactly 2 months, the Basarabeasca – Berizino railway section is functional. Thank you all for your involvement!”, reports Spînu.

The Berezino-Basarabeasca route was last used in 1997. Starting from Monday, August 22, a freight train will run there, according to the Ukrainian specialized press.

Currently, about 44,000 tons of goods can be exported daily on this route. Kiev sees it as an alternative to take its production to the foreign market and for imports.
