Canoeist Sergei Tarnovsky has become the best athlete of 2023. He won bronze medals at the World Canoe Sprint Championships and the European Games, qualifying him for the 2024 Olympic Games.
According to the Ministry of Education, the biggest achievement in the canoeist’s career is the bronze medal received at the Olympic Games in Tokyo. The athlete wants to get another Olympic medal. Serghei Tarnovski admits that to achieve such a goal, he needs a lot of perseverance, effort, and discipline.
In 2023, Moldovan athletes won a record number of medals – 535 in a series of Olympic, Paralympic, and non-Olympic competitions in different age categories.
