“We strongly condemn all the public statements that are incorrect and, at times, even mocking — including those made by representatives of the authorities — regarding the drone detected in Floresti,” says Ion Ceban. In this context, the politician also referred to other recent incidents, including the discovery of weapons smuggling in Albita and the TUX fraud scheme.
“In the case of the truck with weapons discovered at the Romanian customs checkpoint, in the case of the drone, but also in other high-profile issues from recent weeks — such as the increasing number of drug users; the TUX case, where people were stripped of their money; or the situation at Energocom, where nearly 30,000 citizens found inflated data in their bills — there is an impression that the public is being deliberately confused in order to hide details and the individuals involved,” stated the MAN leader.
The mayor of the capital argues that the “official positions of the state institutions responsible for ensuring citizens’ safety and peace are providing contradictory or incomplete information, which sheds no real light on these cases.”
In his view, in such situations, the press and the public are left only to interpret “the fragmented information thrown into the public space. Unfortunately, people are not informed by state institutions, while the country’s top officials make jokes about these matters,” the official notes.
