Chisinau International Airport will experience a period of increased passenger traffic from September 7 to 17 as Hasidic pilgrims travel through Moldova on their way to Uman, Ukraine.
Authorities warn that passenger flows will be significantly higher than usual, potentially causing delays both inside the airport terminal and on roads in the surrounding area.
According to officials, the number of passengers arriving at the airport is expected to increase between September 7 and 11, while heavier traffic is anticipated in the Departures area from September 14 to 17.
To manage the additional passenger flow, the Border Police and Customs Service, with the support of the Carabinieri and Police, will implement additional operational measures in coordination with Chisinau International Airport.
Passengers are advised to plan their journey to the airport in advance and allow additional time for travel and airport procedures.
Authorities also warn that road traffic in the airport area may be heavier than usual during this period.
